乘火车旅行舒适、安全,而且还可以饱览沿途风光。在美国,列车的设备相当完备,餐车、浴室、理发厅、熨衣室一应俱全。列车车厢有客车和卧车之分,座位有等级差别。在欧洲,列车多分为一等和二等,列车进入或离开某国国境会有该国的出入境官员上车检查证件。乘车前如果要运行李必须先到行李托运处办理托运手续,办好后要妥善保管托运单。请搬运工帮忙要给小费。
