Why the world is is getting smaller and smaller? For one thing, modem technology has created various means of transportation. And they are more and more available. Buses, planes and taxis are found in most cities of the world. They deliver goods and take passengers to and from every corner of the world. For another thing, with the development of modern society, people are in contact with one another more frequently. Everyday we must deal with a lot of people unknown to us before. The more advanced a society is, the more contacts we make with others.
So we can draw the conclusion that so long as technology makes progress, the world will grow smaller and smaller.
Directions:For this part, you are allowed thirty minutes to write an eye-witness account of a traffic accident. You should write at least 120 words according to the outline given below in Chinese:
An Eye-Witness Account of a Traffic Accident
At 9:00 a.m. on last Saturday morning, I saw a traffic accident on Nanjing road. At that time,I was on my way to school.
When I turned on the corner, two taxis were severely damaged. One was red, and there are two persons in it. The other was yellow. The door of the yellow taxi was knocked down and lay on the road. Two passengers in it were slightly injured. One driver was bleeding and the other was shut in the taxi. As soon as I saw that, I called 110. The traffic police arrived in a few minutes.
According to what I saw, I thought there may be one possible reasons leading to the accident. That was the yellow taxi kept too short a distance from the red one. When the red taxi slowed down, the yellow one couldn"t slow down in time. So the accident took place.
如one driver和the other指代不清,one driver改为the driver of the yellow taxi.
范文2
An Eye-Witness Account of a Traffic Accident
My name is Li Ming. I am studying at a technical college. A week ago I saw a traffic accident, which is still vivid in my mind even now.
It was at about 9:00 on Saturday morning, June 15th, when I went out of the university to visit a friend at another university. I was walking leisurely on the sidewalk when I heard a loud crash of two vehicles just at the Tjunction about 10 meters away. Two taxis crashed together. It was a traffic accident.
I went up and found that the two taxis were badly damaged. Both hoofs were out of shape. One door of a car was knocked off and lay on the road. One driver was bleeding and the other was shut in the taxis. Some people were trying to help the driver get out of the damaged ear. One man was calling to the traffic police station. A lot of cars were jammed on the road.
From the stopping track on the road, it is clear that the two taxis were driving too fast. But it is just one of the reasons. In my opinion, the taxi drivers were eager to take more passengers and made more money. On the other hand, both drivers didn"t show concern for one another. Both of them wanted to run in front of the other.
Therefore, the accident is inevitable. So far, we should let the drivers keep it in their mind that a little slower, a little safer. Taking care of other"s lives means taking care of your own life.
An Eye-Witness Account of A Traffic Accident
Yesterday evening, I rode to a small supermarket at about 7:00. I happened to witness the car accident when I got near the front of that supermarket. And it was about 7:15.
I saw a white car crashing into the back of a red one in the very front of the supermarket, when all the passengers gathered around the accident spot. So I had to struggle my way through the crowd and saw the two cars were damaged obviously, the white one"s head scratched and the red one"s end broken. Certainly, the two drivers were quarreling about who should be responsible for the car accident.
I am not sure who should be accused of the accident, for it happened in the twinkling of an eye. I take it that the accident may be due to the white car driver"s lack of experience, or he might be drunk that evening. Another possibility is that the red car driver braked suddenly for a certain reason, while the white car driver had no time to make immediate reaction at avoid crashing into it.
We should take some effective measures, We should try our best to overcome the difficulties; we should do our utmost in doing sth, we should solve the problems that we are confronted with来表示措施。
