我们在个体层面上诉求资料与信息的熵增，却在集体层面追寻熵减;我们在个人层面向往正反馈，在社会层面执着于负反馈。看似矛盾的背后隐藏着蒙太效应与对公平美好祈愿的博弈、角力与调和。借二者的平衡，我们得以将进步由元素推广向物质，将发展由个体上升到集体。
我们将二者都归囿于人性，故人性本身实际上包含二者的矛盾。这样的矛盾催生我们的思考与创造，痛苦与喜悦。这样的矛盾让我们在悲天悯人的同时回头将自身投向对于低一层的剥削。我们会发现我们很难界定它的好坏——因此而同情弱小，也因此而隐匿我们的自私，不愿意承认这是内秉的、不可剥离的属性。
我们歌颂善，是因为善能平衡正反馈。而我们的正反馈又过于强大，所以我们更饥渴地期许美好。但因此而刻意否认我们作为生物而遵从的“物竞天择，适者生存”的本性，这是不正确的。无论是哪一方面，都是我们作为生命有机体的一部分。是二者的结合让人类得以成为人类。
