提出请求时的注意事项
在提出请求时，除了必要的礼貌外，还需注意两点：
(1)大胆。大胆就是敢于提出自己的请求，特别是那些初到英美国家的中国学子，不要过分顾虑自己的语言能力。有些人，英语底子很薄，往往说了几句开场白，心里就发怵，不知道下面该说什么，也不知道自己讲的是否符合语法和习惯用法。等到对方再问他几句，竟连怎样回答也弄不清了。只好吞吞吐吐，欲言又止。其实，绝大多数外国人只要听懂你的意思，并不会注意你是否用错时态，混淆名词的单复数，或某几个音发不准。我们听外国人说中国话，只要能听懂，也决不会太在意哪个词序颠倒了，或某个字的声调说错了。道理是一样的。

安慰艺术的“三大原则”
安慰就是一种力图使对方摆脱由于担心、难过、挫折而产生的悲观情绪或痛苦心境的语言行为。这个定义规定了安慰艺术的三个原则：
1.承认对方确实处于某种不好的境地，这是安慰话语的前提；
2.要针对对方忧愁或悲哀的心情说话，这是安慰话语的重点；
3.要使对方摆脱目前的痛苦心情，这是安慰话语的目的。
上述三点构成了“安慰”行为话语结构统一性与说话艺术的综合性。验之于实践，一种语言行为是不是“安慰”和是不是好的“安慰”，都取决于说话时是否坚持了上述三大原则的统一与综合性。
